Activist Melissa Atwell called Melly Mel was detained and questioned by officers attached to Homeland Security.
Reports are that she is cooperating fully with the officers who accompanied her from her New York home this morning.
Capitol News understands that Atwell was questioned on her activism and complaints made against her by the People’s Progressive Party led government.
Atwell, using her social media platform has been publishing information some of which targeted government officials. Some persons have filed complaints with the Guyana Police Force alleging cyber bullying.
Additionally, Attorney General Anil Nandlall had filed a $100 million lawsuit against Atwell in the local court over posts he said were not true.
