A meeting between the Mohameds – Nazar and Azruddin and Attorneys Nigel Hughes and Raphael Tropman was not of a political nature.
Hughes who is the leader of the Alliance for Change in a press statement on the meeting said the Mohameds sought a consultation on legal issues.
The meeting which occurred at the firm Hughes Fields and Stoby dealt with legal obstacles which Team Mohamed was encountering in its philanthropic work.
The consultations were of a legal professional nature. However, according to the statement Trotman who is AFC’s General Secretary provided professional political advice to Hughes on the possible political implications of his possible professional engagement with the Mohameds.
According to the statement, the law office is seeking its own independent advice on whether legal services can be provided to the Mohameds.
Nazar Mohamed who accused Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo of engineering the problems his business is facing said they will have the matters addressed legally.
