A twenty-five-year-old New Amsterdam man accused of raping a child under the age of 16 was today placed on custodial remand.
The man appeared in the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Michelle Matthias where the indictable charge was read to him, and he was not required to plead.
The twelve-year-old girl who was reported missing was found living with the man in his New Amsterdam home.
He will return to court on March 10.
