Four men involved in the robbery of several Chinese nationals were charged and granted their pretrial liberty when they appeared in the Diamond Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Dylan Bess on Monday.

The men Andra Stewart, Nya John, Negus Lamaizon and Matthews Jahlu reportedly robbed the Chinese nationals – Liu Bo, Chaung Yang, Wei Han, Qiao Peng Deng, and Gary Mitchell on February 12 at Republic Park, East Bank Demerara.

The men were all granted bail in the sum of $1,920,000 with conditions attached. The men were ordered to lodge their passports with the authorities and are to report to the CID Headquarters every Friday except days when they are to attend court. They will all return to court on April 10.
