A 38-year-old contractor will spend the next two years behind bars after pleading guilty to Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking.
The man Khemraj Lall was arrested on Monday after he was found with 62 grams of marijuana concealed in three cans of pringles.

The drugs were found by a security guard attached to Aurora Gold Mines in the Cuyuni River as Lall was undergoing a security check.
According to a statement issued by the police the security officer observed Lall with four bags, as he searched one of the bags, he found three cans of pringles. Upon opening the cans, he found bulky parcels which contained a variety of leaves, seeds, and stems. The security officer reportedly questioned him about the narcotics to which he accepted ownership. The drugs when weight amounted to 61.2 grams.

Lall appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed in Bartica Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two months imprisonment. He was also fined $30,000.
