Six days after Joshua David was snatched by several men in front of the New Thriving Restaurant on Main Street and forced into a waiting vehicle there has been no word.
Reports are that law enforcement officials are operating in recovery mode as they combed the backlands of two East Coast Demerara communities – Annandale and Buxton.
On Tuesday, a party of policemen from Regional Police Divisions 4A and 4C ventured to the backlands of Annandale where they received intelligence that David’s remains may be buried. They left empty handed.
A day after he was kidnapped, the Guyana Police Force issued wanted bulletins for five men of which two have turned themselves in to the authorities. A sixth wanted bulletin was issued on Tuesday for a Lodge resident Damien Barlow of Norton Street, making him the fourth persons still at large.
The others are Aaron Alleyne, Wayne Barker and Dwayne Griffith. The police force is asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the men to please contact nearest police station or the nearest police station.
While there are speculations surrounding David’s abduction there has been no confirmation from the authorities as to the motive. With the investigation ongoing, the police force has been very tightlipped on the information it releases for fear of compromising their investigation.
A recording of the abduction surfaced on Monday and showed David attempting to fight off his abductors.
